Definitely a server board. Probably a proprietary cube or half rack design. Not a usual layout. The two white pin grids are for card connectors. That’s standard. As is the blue powered socket. Where it gets interesting however is the socket arrangement. It looks totally modular. First the quad layout. Normally supports 1, 2, or 4 CPUs. But one of the four sockets is a different design. Confusing From there the centeral socket hold the chipset controller. Sockets for two bridge chips, and to the right would most likely be a coprocessor and an I/O onboard controller. My thought? Intel Xeon science boards or AMD opteron flex cubes. Both meant for science and research in general. I’ve seen similar modular boards but never one where the entire chipset was socketed!
