Big long box. Tiny tube monitor. Dual 5.25” drives. Drop down keyboards for an end cover?

Most CDS computers run $30-$60 in value. And cost about $40-$60 on shipping as well. :(

They all used 8080 and 8088 CPUs so opening it up will tell you if you should sell or scrap. Gold pin 8K CPU and other ICs, definitely scrap. If not put it back together and try to find a buyer online.

CDS is a known innovator in the field. The computer museum has a display dedicated to them.
Long before Adobe or Omni were household names they did the impossible. Hand modified licensed fonts.
They had the best looking fonts in the early 80s!

If you do opt to scrap it look for a chip labelled FDS. Literally for don’t data sheet. Most of their systems had the fonts in the primary rom but a few earlier ones used a separate FDS rom. Gently remove it. Package it up safe and secure and sell it on ebay for $20.

It works in any 16 pin dip socket printer board that uses C4K instructions access. Including modern Okidata, Xerox, Samsung, and Brother printing systems. If you need text smaller than 7pt it’s the go to rom.

The computer was nothing special but damn that monitor was clear.
