They are the definition of bare minimum. A few different manufacturers involved in the supply chain; but generally they’re not worth much. The motherboard is an reduced size ITX, bare minimum memory. oversized, but slow, hard drive.
The whole system is basically a commodity embedded system. Which is very different than an all in one. $20 is actually reasonable. I wouldn’t try to part it. The boards have the same (rightful) stigma as the ECS/ENT motherboards in low end Dell and HPs. Short run custom integration layout that fits nothing else. They may not even have module ram stick, opting for soldered ram.
I’d also be surprised if you can up with $20 in scrap. Or even the $10 offered to you. Personally I’d take the $10 offer and run if they turn down your counter offer of $20. And 2nd attempt at $15! Lol. Good luck.
