Its been a couple of months since I have been on here.
I see peripheral has been split into low and high. Is there a general rule of thumb to go by here?

Almost everything that was clear peripheral is now high peripheral.

Anything that was barely, only just, other terms for it, is definitely low.

The biggest difference now is low peripheral allows some higher end level of midgrade to get upgraded to low peripheral. 99% of peripheral before will still be high peripheral now.

I just wish things were better so I could het back to buying scrap again.

Ditto. I miss liquidations. I miss GoodWill more. Scrap was a byproduct of my selling which was itself a byproduct of my rabid collecting. My family calls it hoarding. :(

The good news is that aside from some minor grumblings about previously borderline upgrades now being (logically) worth less the classes have split enough that we’ll all be doing well when the country opens up again.

I am seeing chip heavy small telecom boards that are not from server blades. What grade are they?

Depends on the density and the other components. Likely low or high telco. But I can’t say for sure without a photo.
