What would be a safe price on these as scrap?

That is what I was thinking on the first picture, the second picture I cant make heads or tails of it.

We barcode scanners like these at my work. Complete with battery they weigh 14oz.

Any thoughts on whether to tear these down or ship them whole less the battery?

Complete they weigh 12oz with out the battery = $3.56 each

Will the boards go cell class or high telco?

I think it depends on the unit. Much like cell phones.
Wizard, IBM, and Wasp are going to give you great internals beyond the board. Copper mesh or tape, gold plated antennas, etc.
And that can add up quickly.
Generally these are nothing more than low end PDAs though.

The primary board is usually high telco.
