Any idea if this is brass or gold?
I am leaning to it being brass.

Was there another board or component that was placed or secured to the top of this board?

Was something else pressing against and or touching those brass or gold contacts?

According to the board markings, those appear to be some sort of small transformer with an inductor attached. It looks like those contacts might be a leg for a higher voltage.

To me, from the photo, they appear to be gold plated/sputtered contacts.

If gold is shaded, it will still appear gold. If brass is shaded, it will go dark.
Not always 100% accurate method of course. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be right more often than wrong if you’re honest with yourself.

In your photo, some of those are shaded and still appear gold.

If those are contacts, designed for repetitive on/off contact and consistent continuity, my bet is on gold sputtering of some sort.

I know my response may be vague, but from a photo and no p/n to look up, hard to tell.

No no you are good.
Your reply helps and I understand what you are saying.

This came out of an old electric Panasonic typewriter.
I know that's not much to go on.

I was hoping Lost might be able to shed some light on it.

They made boards for a dozen different companies. All with unique roms.

I recognise your he board design though. Would have been the Quick “processor” electro word processor most likely.
They have stored memory and line at a time output options.

Nifty little transition point in tech. This series is missing the spellcheck dictionary.

I pulled one of those off and got the metal contact out.....I tried the magnet test it does not stick. Brass I’m guessing.
Just fyi....
Those darn things have something like porcelain in them they are hard as a rock.

I simply can’t tell from the photograph.

I wouldn’t be so quick to toss this aside though. Try etching it. The scratch in the right one looks to be slightly different than the top layer.

Again, I simply cannot tell.

I scratched two pretty good. They aren't gold plated, so they are solid gold (lol) brass
