I used a silver acid test and I am not getting any color change.
I tested the acid on some known and stamped 925 silver and it turns brownish red like it should.

The wires bend easily like aluminum, but no reaction at all to the acid.

I would think if they were a tin alloy the acid would have fizzed and mark mark. Even if it was coin grade silver it should have change color. I have a stick of refrigeration solder it changes to green color which is 500 silver.
The only other thing I can think of is the glue on them is not letting the acid make contact with the wire.

Aluminium alloys are possible. I’ve seen enough bizarre stuff to know nothing is absolute.

Then again sealer is also an issue. And would potentially block acid.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's what I could find in the forum. So many search terms get you nowhere because they're too common D:

I will try that acid on a piece of aluminum later and see what it does. And back up and see if I can get the sealer off the wires and re-test it.

No complaint. It’s just the fact that stuff always has exceptions in this field.

oh no complaints from me.
it is what it is.....I just want to confirm that it is or is not silver before I throw in the aluminum wire.

Lost, I had no idea you had replied before me. Guess it took me more than 5 minutes to write my reply.
