So, as careful as I am, every so often a soldered chip / flatpack pulls off the board when I'm removing a glued-on heat sink (or worse, a gold-cap chip!). What is the correct protocol to avoid having the board downgraded? Do I need to re-attach it somehow? Do I just include it loose with the the board? Or does the removed component have to be sold separately?

Thanks!

Based on reading other forum posts, it should be fine if you tape the chip back on with clear tape

They're on there with tape now, but I was thinking maybe a small drop of hot glue would be better.
