 Post subject: Ribbon cable

I know some of the ribbon has gold and some have a shiney white metal on the ends, is the shiney silver looking is that silver? If it is silver who buys the scrap also I have a bigt pile of key boards any value?

Nearly all ribbon cables end with some amount of gold plating on pin connection points. The part inside the plastic where the connection is made. The ‘silver’ you see through the tiny holes are the pin clamp connectors, they are usually tin or nickel.
Cables go as standard wire. Cut the ends off for connector ends.
