Before I toss these in my power supply (no wire) pile, is there any value in removing the connectors. Is there any gold in these contacts?

Yes, there is gold connectors. This is one type that I have spoken on a few times.
Yes, you can strip them down and end up with gold finger card with heatsink/fan
And eventually wind up with a clean gold finger card for those that have hard finger edges.

The question is how you value your time. Just the low end finger card class takes a bit of work. Fans, liquid capacitors , transformers, and wires need to be removed
To get an higher you are basically stripping the card of everything but the IC chips. CMCs. The like.

Thank you. I'm definitely not stripping these as my time is better spent scrapping complete servers and network gear. I might try chopping the edges off with a hatchet or cut with a band saw now that I'm aware there is gold plating.....

The fingers are gold. The compression clamps and pins may or may not be. Depends on the brand and device.
