I have a MB to a tablet called a Getac F110. The CPU on it is an i5 8th gen that has a rectangular shape and is soldered directly to the board. If I was able to get this CPU off in working condition, would it qualify for the test and buy program as it is still technically part of the "i series" if I'm not mistaken.

My guess is no.

I say that because all the test and buy chips currently have a uniform LGA likely because Boardsort only had equipment for one layout at present.
