Thanks for your replies to various threads I create within these forums & also to all of the other threads too. Sometimes, I wonder if your both just real-life AI Google Search Bots or if you both really do just know this much stuff about all the topics you respond to posts on! Either way, it's incredible the amount of knowledge the both of you, and a bunch of others too, have within this site's community. Thank you for passing along your knowledge to others as I'm sure that just to respond to all of the different topics day to day is a fulltime job by itself.

I would add marked and cat whisker to the kudos list. I have learned so much from this forum and as a side hustle, it has put a lot of extra money in my pocket. This forum and boardsort are awesome.

Theres a large number of people who deserve more recognition than I do but thanks.

I found a scrap yard with a ~30 gallon barrel full of RAM and CPUs once and was able to buy them. The profit from sending to Boardsort was used shortly after to buy a new engine in my car when it died. Would have been nice to spend it on something else but sure glad I had the extra money when I did.

Always talk to your local scrap yards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they don't (or even if they do) buy escrap, talk to them about it. Maybe you get to buy from them.

Surprisingly , most small yards, if not an average sized scrap yard, doesn't really bother with E-scrap. I bet most yards are just getting into the bizz recently with precious metals going above. Most of them do it as a side note because they don't know the preferences to sorting and the storage already being taken from their base metals. It's quite easy to offer yards an amount for E-scrap because they're naive about it or they don't want to find a place or logistics to it.

On top of that, they don't have a Boardsort, : )

Us locals , BS is our pride n joy. Not many places offer an E-scrap window and are humble enough to tender these materials at a premium. Yards that do purchase usually have one to three points of sale. "Electronics"(usually bought as ferrous material) or "low, med, high" end material.
