Here's the motherboard from a Sun Oracle server, and I'm trying to determine what category to put it in. It has only a single CPU, so wouldn't go as multi-socket server. It has only a large surface of gold-plated pads, so the metal-, small-, and large-socket categories also don't seem like a good fit. Any thoughts?

Seems like if the area where the CPU connects is larger than 1.75" it would be a large socket motherboard.
