Hey, newbie here, I am a mechanic by trade who is fascinated by electronics. I love taking them apart for fun / art projects, and have always scrapped everything for free at my local metal yard. Now that I have realized the error of my ways, I would appreciate a hand in getting my PCB sorting and processing skills dialed in. I have been reading the forums and studying, and have started to get the lingo and process in place in my brain, and now I think I am ready for this step. I am going to post a good handful of the boards I currently have and hopefully get a sorting system started. Thanks in advance for your help!
What I have gathered so far..
-all wires/connectors and batteries and mercury containing components to be removed.
- boards depopulated of their gold components (gold fingers, Ic chips, etcc) fetch significantly less than complete ones
-remove metal brackets and heatsinks for better value
-separate different colored boards from green ones.
Things I could use a hand with
- Identifying what exactly should come off the board and what should stay.
-Individual board identification
