Hmm...

Initial reaction is some kind of battery but I have no idea. Would be curious to see a couple other angles of it if you are up for adding more photos.

Reminds me of a typical nickel cadmium battery stack. Probably is. The corrosion on the left terminal is typical of that type of battery. Should be a B indication near it on the PCB itself. It is 3 nicads cells welded in series to get approximately 3.6 volts. Enough voltage to maintain memory circuits for the PCB when powered down or even removed from the device it is in. If it has some silver plate on it. I wouldn't be surprised. Dispose of properly. Or recycle.

Varta is a battery manufacturer. Based on the pics and the whiskered ones input plus that B on the board itself, battery!

If those are Nickel/Cadmium, make sure to dispose properly at your local land fill or recycling center
