First off. B and D have part numbers. That's a strong start to identify any component. Do a part number internet search. There are apps you can download to assist you. Also. You can call an electronic parts supplier. Those individuals are professionals at dealing with part numbers. I would make that my last resort though.
Yes. A has a part number. But. Not to worry. That goes into IC chip category. Just by visual ID.
Now. C. That is one wierd suspicious chip package. I got some "different" stuff in my stash of early 60's chips.
An extremely important question. Where did C come from? What type of circuit board was it on? Even the part number of the circuit board can help identify the DIP package C.
Here to learn like everybody else.
My evaluations are my own opinion.

Hah. Forgot to mention Google Lens search. Chip C is identified by Google lens.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for posting a reply. I am a little less confused now that I used your suggestions. I am currently typing in the part number as you suggested and then looking for pictures that are similar to what I have.

The reason I was asking about these weird looking ic chips is because I usually find the plastic ones with regular silver looking legs. However, when I started encountering IC chips with little glass windows I was thinking they were listed on the Sales Menu under a different IC chip category. Unfortunately, I can't open any of the reference pictures listed on the Sales Menu. It gives me an error when I try to open the file. I didn't want to guess so I posted those pictures.

Once again, thank you for taking the time.

Kind regards,
Natalia

Ohh sorry! I forgot to answer your question.

"C" ic chip was taken out of the mid-grade board inside a wired mouse. I can't remember if they were Dell or HP. I have purchased a pallet of 1000 of these mice and more than half didn't work so I was curious as to disassemble them and see what was inside. I have never seen one that looked this weird.

"B" ic chip was taken out of a document scanner. I still have 20 more of these scanners to process and I just didn't know if it was worth the time but when I saw these strange looking ic chips I got a little excited as they seem to have a tiny gold inlay inside. I don't know if Boardsort would accept these as Ceramic IC with Glass and Gold Inlay or just regular IC's. What do you think?

Well, once again, thanks for taking the time.

Kind regards,
Natalia
