My understanding is to leave the tube on the board. Put some tape across it's face. Pack carefully. Submit to boardsort like that.
Am I correct?
I thinking Low Peripheral.

Not a fluorescent tube. (yes, likely fluorescent display, just not a tube)

Lost is really good with these and could tell you whether that one is valuable or really valuable or...not.

My guess this one has some value so, along with the IC on the back, this should go midgrade at least, just not sure if there's any shot at going up.

Yes, do tape it if you're leaving it on there.

--edit (also the parenthesis above)
Chris definitely doesn't want the displays on their own. I may be over estimating the midgrade-ability of the board but it will depend on that display. Email Chris or Lost

A few years ago, I had about 100 boards with a similar display. I mailed chris about them and he said I had to remove them or he didn’t want them.

are you referencing the display readout part of the board on the brown side?? these can be worth more money than scrap? I been ripping them off of all the boards i come across thinking that the plastic or glass top on these is just waste material that BS wouldn't be wanting to get in... If these are worth something more, I'd be interested in talking to someone about these and what I maybe should be doing with them instead

Thanks

Read this link through. Marked141 mentions displays having value.

Personally I do not have the experience to know which have value.
But. They are out there.

Note. The one I have pictured in this post is from a DVD player.

I'm only able to point out it may have value. This being from Lostinlodos having mentioned various displays having some value since I've been here

Your way further ahead of my experience.
Maybe Lostinlodos will make a post discussing fluorescent displays.

Oh. I used the term fluorescent tube as a default to my type of thinking.
Anything in glass and under vaccum is a tube. In my world. But. Yes. Fluorescent tubes are those lights in about every home, office and business lighting application.
Pictured is a Numitron display device. DR 2000. Exactly what RCA called it.
But. Doing some internet work. It's a tube. And if we crawl further into the past electronic world. Nixie Tubes!!! A display device. I am from the Nixie tube electronic era. So. I see a display of any way shape or form. If it is glass and under vacuum. It's a tube.
Not to over work this post. But. It is what it is.
