This wire has gold fingers as connectors. Does this type of wire have any gold anywhere else other than the ends?

Many thanks

Maybe. But not likely in any real degree.

See my pic Reply.
I just cut here and toss it in the ic bin. Nobody (chris or local) ever complains
you probably have trace amounts in the contact points under The ic and CMCs.
Connector is gold finger scrap
The pictured part in ic
The rest is copper/nickel flat cable.

The only time i consistently see gold flatwire is when it has a thick polymer black masking.

Thanks Bro. I have been saving those fingers from similar wire ribbons that many times are inside of CD/DVD drives, digital cameras, and other electronics.

Boardsort buys the fingers as "Clean Gold Fingers" so just trim the gold finger tips and add it to that bucket. They are pretty light but it all adds up. I find this type of wire in digital cameras, CD/DVD ROM's, plasma tv's, and sometimes in floppy disk drives.

I found that particular one in a hand-held scanner

The print cartridge ribbons are copper or gold. Depending on the cable's manufacturer.

The bga contacts like the second one are usually nickel silver or nickel gold (white gold).
Though some rare cases I've gotten them in palladium. Like a zebra production scanner... comes to mind.
The bottom one... always gold if golden but usually with other material to lower the rate/grade. (If grey they are usually silver. Haven't see tin yet.

Printer flats that are gold i usually cut cleanly and add to my gold fingers.
The rest i sell to a local yard as gold recovery.

(wish still had access to old pms maybe I missed something) if anyone finds a place online to sell these bad boys id like to know.
