I found a socketed ic chip on a board that has gold legs. Not gold capped like a 8086 just the legs are gold. Any idea where to put it? I'll post a picture later if neccesary but it's a pretty normal looking ic chip aside from the gold legs. I assume it's better class than reg ic chips and obvs its lower than 8086. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

You'd need to post a picture before anyone can give you a n accurate answer. Somewhere between green/brown fibre and 486 without a pic. Or an $80 spread.
