How did you classify the 2nd one as a backplane. Its from the 80s and a giant slot cpu went into the long slot. Wouldn't this be classified as a motherboard then?

It’s missing the majority of the requirements for a motherboard, such as controllers and extended I/o. Lack of ram or ram sockets
Here the majority of the actual motherboard is on a risers.
The cpu wasn’t actually a slot processor but a direct bus interface cpu riser.

On the other hand it’s a lot of plated gold pin connector weight. Especially with the DBI socket. Boosting it out of peripheral regardless of the lack of IC population.
