I have a mixture of boards that are all from routers, cable boxes, & dvr’s. There are several makes and models but here are a few. Would these all qualify as peripheral or is there enough difference between them that some would grade out lower than peripheral?

Do I need to remove the shields even if there isn’t anything under them? The pictures are of the back side three identical boards just various stages of removing the shield

Your most awesome!

Pop the top and move on. If it’s not a cast iron or thick steel frame skeleton it’s acceptable.

Two issues with shields:
They add low value weight. In an industry of grams that’s important

Shields block the view. What if there’s a battery, or a shard from the All Spark.
Or a gold cap ceramic. We just don’t know.

Good to know! I have hundreds of these to go through. The top part comes off very easy, but the little bracket is headache!

And thanks for your explanation. It makes great sense
