1. Is there enough finger to qualify as clean Gold Finger Card? There isn't much for population. What would it go under if not a Gold Finger Card?

2. Do I need to remove the transformer and speaker to get the clean Gold Finger Card rate?

3-6. Any reason these would not be clean Gold Finger cards?

I think that 1 it has enough finger for clean gold finger card rate (finger is hard too see in the picture along with the similar board color), but I would throw it in low telecom, just to be safe.

Or you could email Chris and ask, because this one is borderline.

AAK2,

I see the the gold fingers on 1, and I may very well be wrong on it. I don't think it will quite make GFC (not enough there).

I e-mailed Chris just to make sure, I'm still too new to things. The best way for me is to go to the source if I have any doubts, although I wouldn't advocate for flooding Chris's inbox with questions just over a doubt. For me it's needed until I get a little confidence to make judgment calls and then just leave it in their hands. Overall there are too many variables and no way to set a formula (x+y=z) to just be able to say there is a hard line here or there. It seems to me it's more feeling things out and from Boardsort's perspective they can't just take risks as a business, overhead will run you over in an instant from bad choices.

SamW,

You are right there is no hard fast rule to some of the boars grades. Its all in the boards (the components and their contents. Some gold is heavy plate while other gold is so thin its not really a factor in grading.
