Is it gold or is it just the exposed silicon?

i havnt dealt with silicon but i have almost decided it isnt gold. it slightly changes color/hue at different angles and light shades. i dont think gold would do that would it?

Silicon wafer or silicon wafer chip probably would have been a more correct description.

Since you're saying it changes color I'm guessing it is silicon which makes your board a small multi socket server board
