1. What grade would this be? It came from a camera.

2. Do we leave these larger capacitors on? Would this just go in low-grade?

3. Would this count as a cell phone board? It came from a security system that connects via cell connection.

4. I know this is the laminated wire talked about sometimes, but what do I do with it? Can the ends be trimmed and put into gold fingers?

5. Is this RAM?

Thanks as always.

1) If there's any kind of placeholder in the SD slot remove it (I can't tell what's there for sure) and I don't see a battery but double check there's no tiny button cell anywhere. This board is at least high peripheral but may be able to go higher. If someone else can confirm that would be great; I'll try looking around the forum too to double check.

2) Midgrade as is. Probably low peripheral if you remove the capacitor.

3) Remove the shield (carefully) and the SIM card. Boardsort doesn't currently buy SIM cards; will be high peripheral at least after that, possibly higher based on what's under the shield.

4) I don't recall where it was mentioned but Boardsort does not want the trimmed ends with gold fingers. They don't have as much gold and it lowers the overall quality of the gold finger material. Certain laminated wires are gold, but boardsort doesn't currently buy those either. I have been collecting similar wire debating whether I want to figure out how to differentiate between them or trim the ends or just dump it in my insulated wire. I know this doesn't answer the question...

5) That is gold fingered RAM. From a laptop (which doesn't make a difference)

Thanks for the response!

I popped the SIM card out, what do you mean by the shield? Does the metal cover that says "Telit" come off?

It's probably soldered on but yes that metal shield with the Telit sticker should be removed. If you look around the edge of the shield or remove the sticker first it may reveal a hole(s) that can be used to leverage it off.

Here it is with the cover removed.

I think you'd be okay putting it in low telco now.
