Are these good enough to qualify as GFC, or are they too full of heavy components? What if I removed the transformers, etc? Or, in the case of #3, is it too sparse? Seems like #1 might go as telco if transformers are removed.
Thanks.

I was asking about some boards similar to those recently. #3 does not have enough quality to grade as GFC. #2 and #1 have more ICs and could grade better.

Your boards look just like mine, though I see you never got a good answer regarding the grades.

I cannot imagine #1 not going for at least GFC with the transformers removed. PCI risers (little more than some gold fingers and a PCI slot attached to a small board) and similar boards will go as GFC no problem, so a board like #1 surely wouldn't get graded as low as high peripheral. It certainly looks better than the low telecom example on the payout list.

Maybe if the board was snapped off where the heavy stuff begins so I'm not sending in a lot of empty board that adds to the weight and reduces the component density?

I don't have a lot of experience grading these type of board, but I would pop off the transformers and other heavy stuff from #1 & #2 and classify them as GFC. #3 might be Peripheral Low Grade so I would leave everything on it.

After my next shipment when I send in several different types boards like these I will know how things classify better.
