I'm new to the world of Escrap. How do you tell the difference between peripheral low grade and peripheral high grade boards? Thanks

That's one of the things I struggle with as well. Some boards are easy to tell with the number (or lack) of ICs, but others are on the edge. Check out a few of these posts and see if it helps.

Thx ropeman, second link was very helpful. I think I am starting to get the hang of it, it’s kind of just low vs high population of chips and stuff etc

That's what I have learned. ICs, gold tab flat packs, regular flat packs, and tantalum caps seem to be the higher grade items and if the board has more than ~20% of the surface with these items it falls into high grade. Less than ~20% keeps it back in low grade. 20% is just my observation so it could be a different population.
