1) Should all be laptop motherboards? Remove anything?

2) Should all be laptop motherboards? Remove anything?

3) Pinless CPUs?

4) Also Pinless CPUs? (came from laptops, if I remember correctly)

Thanks

Your grades sound correct. Check out the top left and right CPUs. If they've been treated nicely they might test as a good processor.

I'm stuck using my phone still but hopefully new internet provider set everything up today and I'll be able to see these pics better.

The CPUs, the middle one of the set of three and the two without a metal cap appear to have pins. That would make the middle one pins with metal and the two pins without metal.

Laptops just make sure you got the batteries off and personally I remove the steel bracket where the CPU heatsinks attach but I don't think that's strictly necessary, I think there's just one board with one on it. Again can't see on my phone well enough to be sure.

Looks like everything I said before holds up. (Oh yeah, I have internet!)

Just for reference this is a pinless chip, it has contact points that are flat against the chip: (oh yeah, ignore my price... :D )

And this is a chip with pins, the pins fit into a socket which then clamps down on the pins when you secure a latch (usually, certain chips/ICs don't have a latch):

Glad you have connection again! It is hard to see whether there are pins or not on those green fiber CPUs, but I've never seen one like that with no pins.

Right! I thought I could make out from the shape and style that they had pins but didn't want to say for certain until I could zoom in better on my computer, phone just doesn't cut it for some reason.
