Ok, got 3 boards f which I'm unsure of their classifications. First is from an apple mouse, second is a smoke detector, and third is unknown, with a chip I have no idea where to sort into.

Thanks in advance!

Mouse board that is u shaped is high peripheral, other one is mid grade.

Put the smoke detector back together and bring to your local hazmat drop off. Boardsort does not want them because they contain a small piece of americium, which is radioactive.

Third thing, low grade.

The transistor (the boxy thing with a gooey material on one side) might be midgrade, is the one picture the whole unit and the other picture of it disassembled?

The last board after that is what it came off of? Without the transistor I think you'll be okay as high peripheral. Leave it on and it'll be low peripheral in my opinion.

Good info on the smoke detector.

And yes, the gooey square is pictured opened, and closed, and came off the rectangular board shown. The transistor would be the large black cylindrical object?

Sorry, the transistor I was referring to was the individual component with the gooey on one side. Not knowing if you had more of those boards to take apart I was pointing out what I thought the grade would be with it still on the board in case that made a difference in how much work you were doing. The aluminum capacitor (black cylinder) can stay.

The transistor itself, if you can heat the aluminum up and pop it off, the component will be high peripheral. leave the aluminum on and it's midgrade.
