I am new to this, so I want to confirm something about socketed ICs. I have a few old motherboards and peripheral cards with ICs in sockets. From reading around, I believe the correct thing to do is to pop out all socketed chips, and then send the boards and ICs weighted up separately. Can someone confirm? Thanks! Example MB with socketed chips in red boxes attached.

You could always weigh the board and the ICs separately to see if it's worth it but I'm not certain if removing all those ICs will cause a downgrade from large socket mobo. A lot of large socket mobos have other socketed ICs and boardsort may count on those being there to meet the price point they buy at.
