Oh no! They split the motherboard categories further!

D:

Uhm... Maybe? We'll need some help from Chris on this one I think.

The Small Socket P4 GREEN Motherboard went up .05c and the Metal Socket Green Motherboard went down. Also it seems that there is a new category for Small Solid Plastic Socket Motherboard (AMD) and Integrated Motherboard (No Socket No Gold Tab BGA). The later seems to be the WYSE terminal type of motherboard.

I have been processing and boxing up several types of motherboards so I will have to go back through my boxes and take another look.

I'm not sure if removing the metal socket will change the category because the other category is a plastic socket.

Unfortunately this was a change handed down from the processors higher in the food chain.

No, removing the metal clasp from a Metal Socket Motherboard will not change the grade. The clasp was never the issue with the board, instead it simply comes down to the overall values on each grade of board.

So leave the metal clasp on the board and save the time and keep the weight. All other metals (heatsinks, plates, batteries) must go of course.

It has been a cat and mouse game between us mid-tier buyers and the end-of-line processors and they just switched out the cheese on us. More on that in the near future.

Thanks for the info Chris!

Since this is our new reality to work with a thought:

I imagine removing the metal will just make it more difficult to identify the board leading to some of these getting mixed in with the better boards and lowering the value of those. So don't do that.

Thanks for the info Chris! I think everybody should read that post "The motherboard game" to get an idea about separating materials.
