Hi,

Trying to figure out if anything should be taken off these boards, and what they would rate if I do, or don't. Everything is soldered on there pretty good.

Thanks,
Uriah

All midgrade as is, don't need to remove anything from them.

Depending on the board and the ease of removal determines when I remove heatsinks. These boards are low enough value it's probably not going to benefit you to remove them.

Now if you have a local scrap yard paying really well for aluminum then maybe it's worth your time to take them off. Again, how easy is it to get them off will be the a main factor in that.

When you get into higher grade boards, taking aluminum and steel off is usually a necessity to get the best grade.

Those sinks aren’t worth removing. They have hard fast pegs in through holes. You need to break the solder. Straighten the latch. Clear the component pins. Just to get them off.
Then you need to remove the steel slides from the sinks. If your dirty/mixed Al rate is below 40 cents just ignore them.
