Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me figure out a value on boards of this kind. They're aluminum overall, but the numbered spots may be gold? Backs look like plain aluminum.

My coworker is convinced there's a decent bit of gold value here, but I wouldn't have guessed it. The pack pictured is unopened and probably ~10 pounds, boards are roughly 10"x10".

Any input appreciated. Board sort, if you're interested I think I have 100-200 pounds of this stuff.

Doesn't look like a "board" to me, but a unit with you only showing the bottom. Also question the gold surface contacts printed on a metal plate, as any voltage would bleed to the other contact areas

Well, they are in fact "boards" of some kind, printed on aluminum sheet. See additional photos. One of these actually has leds and other components attached. You can see the printed lines in some of these pics.

The original pic was a pack of ~20 of these printed boards without any attachments on them yet.

OK. that explains the 3-D look. i used image search (the little camera icon in the upper right corner of the photo of one of these boards. Very helpful. It showed me everything with a metallic shiny back, from laptops to refrigerators. So, no help there. Is there a manufacturer listed anywhere?

This looks like some hybrid FR4/Aluminum board for some lighting control module, makes sense that they would want to use an Aluminum layer (if that's truly what it is) for heat dissipation, although it is definitely not the best conductor. Common FR4 boards are a copper fiber (copper being a great conductor) that most boards consist of, and this would be the last line of value, barring any PM content on the board. I do see some gold squares where certain devices would be mounted, but these are mostly bare.
Unfortunately, the refineries don't pay for Aluminum. If there's no way to separate it, it would affect the value tremendously. I would forward this to Chris, maybe send him a sample so he can XRF to determine content, and he can clue you in to a price per pound.
Earthworm, I ran into a similar scenario recently, but it was bare industrial boards from the 70's/80's. You can email me at my user name within gmail if you want more info on the outcome of that.

Very helpful, thanks! I'll see if they can be separated first, then ask Chris if they want a sample.

Otherwise, I just saw a lightly-used XRF analyzer on eBay for a mere $16,999...

Cheers

Also, most decent coin shops will have one, at least the ones that advertise buying gold and silver. Aside from acid tests, these are good for a quick analysis to determine what is real and what is junk. Break off a small piece and ask them nicely.
The rigs I have seen them use are more of a stand alone unit rather than a gun, but they work the same way.
