Hey there everyone,

First time posting on your site, and I'm trying to sort some stuff I have to make my first shipment.

Had some questions on some boards and how the should be classified. also how harsh will it be if I mis-judge something? I know I'll get something wrong lol. Do the staff just reclassify some stuff as they go as long as they see its not a habit/on purpose?

Looking for any tips and tricks to help better determine what is high grade vs low grade telcom. Obviously if this has been explained in detail somewhere else send me a link. i didnt see anything in my quick search.

Thanks for all your help!

For starters.
You must remove batteries from all boards.
I can see disc batteries on A,B, and D(the yellow disc mounted vertically in the back.
Also the purple cylinder on E. That's a battery. Labeled TL-5902.
Go to the Boardsort E-scrap price list and throughly review the pictures and videos.
Also. Review the posted notices. Review the posted videos.
You- tube has some great videos covering e-scrap sorting specifically for Boardsort.
You need to get educated and develope a feel for placing a board in a category.
There is a wealth of knowledge in those short videos. I would review and review. Doing comparisons between each category video. Pick up on the details being pointed out. And of course. The forum here.
And as always. You can email Boardsort with questions.
I'm still new at this myself. Yep. Those boards you have pictured are tough to place.
High telecom. Low telecom. Or high peripheral.
I will be sitting back and waiting for some more experienced forum member to give his opinion. You got some good boards though.

The forum consists of a bunch of people just like you and a bunch with varied levels of experience in escrap. We'll give you our best guess. If you get a response from Boardsort that's the grade or Lostinlodos, 99.9% of the time that's the grade. I recommend if you're not sure on a grade to go with the lower grade, this allows Boardsort the ability to upgrade the board and get you more money and not end up with a downgrade and loss of money. If the forum can't get you a clear answer, shoot Chris (boardsort) an email with a link to the post and he'll respond when he's able. That being said, if you are shipping a lot of material and have things you aren't sure on, be sure to separate those boards clearly so they can be checked.

A couple good threads to read through since you're just getting started:

Good examples and explanations of various categories here

Examples of batteries here

A-C) My gut reaction was high peripheral, mostly because I see a lot of heavy lower value metal. If the metal connectors aren't as heavy as I think (which is hard to convey in text) it may get into low telco.

D-E) More inclined to think this can get low telco but not definite on this one either.

F) Seems like a common household modem, high peripheral.

G) The heavy ports always throw me off, I'd lean high peripheral to be safe but low telco might be okay

H) Similar to above, low telco seems safe but may be able to clear high telco
