purple gold is a thing believe it or not. But its supper hard to make and supper brittle. I don't think it would every be used in a chip.

I think maybe Marked141 was using E-scrap jargon. When he posted. Unless "gold is purple". Which I interpret. It is the blue ceramic produced in the 70's and 80's. Not that the package had purple gold pin outs. But. The package was made with the purple ceramic at that time which meant high performance. Quality. The date code indicates it is from the 80's
So. As a guideline. The older. The better for gold content. As a sidenote. I could be way off in my assumption.
But. As always.

OP asked if "gold leg gold cap chip?"

I was referring to the cap. <3

It probably was Nile (blue/red makes purple, interesting...lol)

That’s most likely AMD ceramic aluminium top.

The IC itself is nice and valuable, but the cap is a tungsten aluminium. (Every one I’ve seen anyway).

And those are hard to remove the cap without damaging the IC.

If you get the cap off it will be lsi or amd clean.
