I came across a few of these. I understand that the longer item is the extender socket where one plugs in a GPU, and the little items with gold fingers go into the motherboard, and the two are connected together with a USB3 cable (not shown). Just curious what category each of these would fall under? I realize it would take a lot to make for much weight...thanks in advance.

The board with the large socket. I would submit it as Backplane. That's assuming the socket has gold contacts. The smaller boards. I would submit them as Connector Ends. Hopefully a more experienced escrapper will post.
But. That's what I would do.
Here to learn like everybody else.

I'm definitely not a more experienced e-scrapper, but I had the same question a while back: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22881
and: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22880

Since then I did send a shipment into Boardsort which had the risers (they went as backplane) and the PCI-e connectors (I threw them in with high grade peripheral as advised in that thread).

I assume you took all of that foam padding off the backside of the risers? That was a butt puckerer for me, but I'm sure Boardsort would not like to receive those with zero-value weight attached. Good luck!

Thank you 'Temple of Set'! I have now bookmarked both of those pages you referenced. I swear I do a topic search before posting any questions, but somehow I did not find yours.
Yes, I plan to remove the foam padding on the back. Waiting to see if I find more before selling them to Boardsort.

I was curious about the potential issue of "zero-value weight" represented by the foam backing. I weighed one with and one without, and my scales that go down to 1/10th of an ounce did not show any difference. Understood if I had 10 or 100, etc. it might register. But still, I'm guessing that Boardsort would be more concerned about how those could affect processing them as opposed to paying for the foam backing. They are a pain to remove, so if they said, "it's okay to leave them on" that would be great! But until then I will remove them. Thanks again.
