OKAY, Gang, last bit of help for the night. I HOPE! Thank you in advance. I THINK these things are Low Grade SATA Hard Drive Boards. If not, then what?

funny you should say that, I just sent in a PCIE ssd with a bigish cap on it lol granted its factory on that card, my old PC took a dump and I'm sending in the revo drive out of it with my next scrap load.
Replaced it with a core 9 285 system and I have to say I hate it. I"ll likely be tacking down a older set of hardware I can run xp on, 90% of my games do not work on win10/11 alone, the OS is meh and buggy too and its hardly any faster for all I spent on it. altho I do like having 8tb of storage, I'll never need it but its nice to have.

I was joking about those gigantic server power supply capacitors. lol

I still have my 9590 system running xp and Dragonfly.

I won’t preach. But running WFW 3.11in DosBox in 7 in parallels on macOS on a Mac Studio for old 16-bit games is more stable than running them on xp directly.

Have to have my Castle in/of the Winds, one of the greatest low end RPGs ever made.

I also use crossover and Pour and fuse for various reasons. My default system is Mac put my secondary is a BSD platform running on AMD epic

fx 9590? aka a space heater? I had one for a wile loved the platform ran it at nearly 6ghz daily for a wile.

Dos box and VMs are nice but the games I play do not like those all to well and for me its a lot less work to setup a old PC with a xp/dos dual boot. Most of the windows games I play need hardware 3d and sound (EAX) so a VM or parallels in your case would not cut it, found out the hard way the EAX does not work in anything newer then xp when my x79 system took a dump late last year. Also found out that dx6 and older does not work with on anything modern ether, dx6 works persay but has some smaller nit picky problems, dx4 hardware 3d yeah that's a big no, but there is a wine3d lib that sometimes fixed things and gets dx3d to work. Dos box is not fast enough even with a core9 285 to play a lot of the games, build games at 1600x1200 are far to slow and MW2 merks is slow as all get out. I'm looking to put together a via chipset 939 system so I don't need to use a sound blaster emulator like I did with my x79 system. but I'm in no rush to do that as I don't game that much anymore.
