I don't see this chip in the examples on boardsort.

Good day. This one is a P4/Green Fiber With Metal.
If you go to the price sheet and look at the example picture, the picture is comparable

Thank you! I thought it might be that one, but the picture looks a little different. Thanks for the confirmation!

yes, the CPU without pins if it has the IHS AKA the chunk of nickle plated copper goes as a "No Pin CPU". Also some very old CPUs have aluminum IHS but that rare, sometimes those chips are worth pulling the IHS off if you have the right tools as they are so light and it would upgrade class the CPU can be scrapped as, just be sure its not a soldered IHS chip.

I don't want to call them older because I'm from 85 and I'd like to think I'm not being called older lol

no, it could work but you are likely to crack/shatter the die, and if its a soldered chip you will shatter the die, a deliding tool or a thin razer blade and heat are the right tools. That is outside the AMD k6 CPUs, you can pry those IHS off with a thin flat head screw driver, same with the NVIDIA FX chips too.

As for the age of the chips, the first you posted is a P4 from around 2002, the second photo can be anything from 2004 to today, looks like a AMD64 or newer chip and the other one might be a lga775 CPU. The older CPUs I was talking about with the aluminum IHS are from around 1997 to 2000 ish so about 25-30 years old and rather old by tech terms, Think AMD k6 and some PIII CPU's
