Hello there,

I am curious, should all sister boards be separated? This is the case of a tiny board that brings a sister one on top. I happen to have several styles of the same concept but I don’t know how to proceed. If I leave them as is, could that be classified as a high grade peripherals? If I separate them (please see attached picture) what would each be?

I will attach a few pictures for your review and suggestions.

Also. What do you think wan cards without gold fingers are? I have various styles as well. They come very well populated and ai have been treating them as miniature high grade peripherals. I’ll also attach a few pictures to see what your opinion is.

Thanks for your time.

Natalia

If it's a socket connection, you can separate all day long. You can even weigh both boards and figure the price for leaving them together or not and put them back together if needed.

If it's soldered, I would tend towards saying leave it if there's not a huge difference in the boards and potentially separate if one board is going to substantially negatively impact the grade of the other.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

They are soldered together but I can quickly separate them with the help of a chisel and hammer. What you say it's true. I think together they make a solid high-grade peripheral and separating them would, in fact, affect its grading. Based on your response, I have decided to keep them joined together and see what Chris says in a few weeks when his staff receives the package. Regardless, thanks a lot for your input.

In regard to the second question, do you happen to know how to categorize those small internet cards that laptop montherboards bring? I didn't have an issue with the ones that bring goldfingers as those are listed in the sales menu as "Goldfinger Wifi cards. What could those be?

Thanks again!
Natalia
