It's kinda sad to destroy a bunch of complete computers from the 90's,
just for the little bit of gold inside, don't ya think?
Here's someone a chance to buy them before I destroy the rest.
But something tells me you all are not the EBAY selling types. lol

What do you have and were are you at ? I may buy a few things if the price is right. I'm also looking for some higher end stuff from the mid 00s too. would love to get a nice nf4 or 5 or 790i motherboard and a pair of GX2's or 7900gtx's too. but as for 90s stuff I would buy any system is a overtly large, think ALR server big or anything I could use for a kick ass ms-dos and 9x gaming PC that I could put my Quantum3D Obsidian 100SB in to.

Sorry, I keep getting logged out
I think I recognize the nf4. I might have took it apart night before last.
I have an Asus, Soyo still in the box. I have
A7N8X-E Deluxe Nividia nForce 2 Ultra 400
SY-KT600 Dragon Plus v1.0
Chaintech STK600
ECS KT600
He got them in 2005
There's 500 watt XConnect Power Supplys never been opened
Air and cooled heatsinks. New hardrives.
He had a lot the 1990's computers DeskPro and 300GL's I just took apart a Laser 386, Vectra, Vtech
Bose speakers 201', 301, 901's, Sansui XP750's

NF4 is nforce4. what asus and soyo and what NF4 board do you have?

nForce2 Ultra 400
SY KT600Dragon Plus
Disks and instructions
He had opened them made note in bottom corner that they tested good and has the date.
He passed 6 years today and I'm on here destroying perfectly good electronics.
I fired up one of the 300GL's last night.
I hope this is ok to do this.
I have a feeling they are gonna put these computers right back together,
minus 1 component off of each board. lol
I'd rather sell it all at one time for one price.
This would have been great for an EBAY seller.
I'll be back in a day or two.

You're not wrong. The trick is finding anyone who's interested in it beyond scrap.

The A7N8X-E is more than worth selling if it works, KT600 boards are hit or miss for selling, most of them are going to have bad caps and most folks rather have a nforce 2 or KT880 board so you're not getting a whole lot more than scrap prices. The 500w psu is worth a try to sell but finding a buyer would be hard but I may buy it for the right price if its the green one or has 2 6 pin PCIe power cables.

compaq DeskPro and IBM 300GL? I'm sure you could sell those on ebay or VCFED.org rather fast https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?forum ... -trade.40/ or you could go to one of VCFED events and sell them. nether the DeskPro 300Gl would likely fit my Obsidian 100SB so I would pass on them.

Been sitting here typing everything out and it disappeared. If you got 2500.00 and trailer and willing to take a drive in the country, Boardsort will get a big chunk of this anyway from who buys it.
Give me your email if interested and I will contact you. Sorry, I don't have a phone so it makes things a little difficult at times, but I like my privacy.
I one question, an average sealed Deskpro is worth 25.00, is that correct?
I'm not gonna list all this stuff that's here. I'd like to talk to boardsort, but I don't want to bug them or use this as an auction house. That's not my intentions. I'm just an old man with a bunch of old computers and it's time to get rid of them. I'm not an escrapper. These didn't come out of a dumpster, they've been sitting on a shelf for close to 25 years.

indeed. doesn't help with how cranky the retro tech community has become, most everyone will gripe about us scrappers but also don't like us coming along and trying to sell or giveaway stuff on their forums and communities and some sites/groups going as far to not let anyone sell stuff at allm. and worse is how most of the vintage/retro computers sites are ran but some rather not so nice folks to say the least.

Wile people into vintage computers are out there and willing to buy, places to sell stuff is limited to a select few sites like amibay, vcfed and ebay. amibay and vcfed don't just allow you to walk in and sell stuff and a lot of folks in the retro computer hobby tend to gripe about ebay. so finding buyers can be hard.@NoWaistedSpace there's a fella on youtube, mike tech, he buys bulk e waste and computer lots from the 90s and early 00s, he might be worth contacting too if you want to sell everything at once.

Ebay is nothing but a den of thieves who sell nothing but junk when it comes to electronics. I've been ripped off in some way about 8 times since covid.
It used to be a good place, not anymore. I mess with stereos and music equipment. They ask between 25 and 45.00 for 1 driver for a Bose 901 speaker that you always have to replace the surrounds on. There are 18 drivers in a set of 901's. I own 6 sets of cabinets. I was lucky, my brother had bought a whole case of drivers many years ago. They want 45.00/pc for new knock offs. Hell, the stands and eq cost as much as the cabinets today. If you can even find original stands. Ebay is selling bars stool bases and calling them authentic.
It's 300.00 min for original chrome stands and they will have rust on them. If 901's are set up correctly, you can't beat the quality of the sound. Most have never listened to them the correct way. I run 2 sets as amplifier speakers for guitar. Fantastic sound. Right dead in the middle of the guitar frequency range.
You either love them or hate them. It's all about the room set up. You can't tell where the sound is coming. They can run on 20 -400 watts. I have Marantz and JVC stereos from the 70's. You can't the sound quality and the look of the old stuff. The want rid of us Boomers as quick as they can for some reason.
Sorry, I'm babbling about nonsense. That's what old people do. lol
People should listen to us, we've been and done that.

Attention I sold them for 50 bucks each, plus I got to keep everything else.
Only took 5mins and I had the cash in hand. They were tickled to death to get them.

Tell me about it. I gave up on ebay because of the scammers. Some of them even found out how to get ebay to remove negative feedback.

Not a boomer but never got the boomer hate from my generation and genz, feels a lot like toxic entitlement, like "I can't have the nice things boomers have so I'll gripe and complain about them" Mean wile millennials and genz will sit on their butt all day doing nothing, afraid of getting phone call and spending every dime they have on junk and wonder where their money went. Then there is the arrogance... like you don't think someone older who has been around the block a few times more then you might know a thing you two you don't? Guess I'm rambling too Image

We do know more than you think. lol
Since I decided to ewaste these, been researching and there used to be 3/4oz of cold in the old computers. All of that waste was dumped in landfills and in peoples properties all around the country. Millions and millions of dollars buried in landfills and peoples back yards. We had a dump on our property in the early 60's. Everyone did. You didn't have waste disposal back then. Housing developments were being built over top of these old landfills in the 70's and 80's. When I was a kid,9/10 years old, we would ride our bikes around the backroads and find these dumps along the road and "dump dive" I guess you could call it. lol
We found so many cool things, used to find old beer cans, the old "cone tops" and the cans you had to open with a can opener. I remember my mom telling me she through all my oldest brother lead toy prizes away when he was a kid that came out of Cracker Jack boxes. They would be worth a fortune today. I know exactly where our dump was. We sold the property in 1968. These places are everywhere hidden by time. Us boomers know where these places are. lol
We played outside all day, then when Mario Brothers came out in the early 80's, that was the beginning of our downfall as a species.

With technology today, I'd bet they know where a lot of this stuff is and they purchase the minerals rights to a property and go in and dig this stuff up.
if Boardsort placed drop off locations out in the rural areas, more people would ewaste. Main reason I sold those 50, I couldn't ship that amount, I'm 4 hrs away.
One person a set of scales and a storage unit would be all they would need.
Would be a nice side job for someone like me on SS who stays at home all the time.
There's opportunity for everyone to make a little money. lol

I have a rather interesting insight on this, I'm from the USA, a younger Xennials aka older millennial who does not fit in with other millennials and has more in common with genX, I grew up when Mario was still fairly new, when I teen the internet was the new thing on the block and so on. My wife is the same age but not form the USA. In her country they have a far higher usage of cell phones, social media and playing video games, so much so that most work places will use instagram or face book to communicate and not teams or slack or even emails or phone numbers. Even in the remote rural mostly undeveloped village most of her family lives in you can see posters advertising games, mostly call of duty. Her nation is often referred to the social media and cell phone usage capital of the world and yet despite this all the problems that social media, games and cell phones have caused in the USA are a thing there. Kids still play outside and wonder around, people are not fighting online or glued to their phones 24/7, there is no polarization of society, drug use is very low, addiction to phones and games are very low, mental health issues are extremely rare, there is no loneliness epidemic and so on. For me I see the problem is less games, less to do with phone usage, social media and more to do with long and deep routed problematic cultural issues in the USA. Guess I'm rambling again too.

I remember staying up 1/2 the night playing Mario Brothers and get up and go Hod tend for a block layer. My ass would be dragging by quitting time. lol
Believe it or not, I'm one of the few people who don't own a cell phone in today's world.
Where I live, there is no cell phone service. I don't really need one. I can do all that I need to do online and when I do, I walk to the neighbors and use their phone. Yea, the US is pretty screwed up all the way around these days. There's an "all about me" virus that's affecting our culture.
That's why I live where I do. Plenty of peace and quiet and nobody bothers me.
My ancestors were some of the first settlers that crossed the Ohio River from Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap and settled in this area. I have Scots "Ulster" Irish ancestry on both sides from my parents.
Yea I carry the "accent".
Anyways, I'm still pulling CPU's out. I am finding some of the higher Gold CPU's in these computers I got left.
I wished I knew more about computers. I really didn't know what I had.
They did say they were gonna double their money. Evidently there was something there they wanted.
I don't care; I was glad to get rid of them. I'm like you, I'm babbling again. lol
