vintage avionics generally solder both sides with hi-temp hi-silver solder. the boards tend to burn before solder melts. what is the magic to remove chips. not HCL. prefer to not damage or shorten legs.

As far as scrap, expect the chips to get a downgrade if there's solder on the legs. I do not know what they would go down to, just don't expect gold cap gold leg IC.
