Does removing this CPU from this gfc lower the value of the board and what grade would the CPU be?..it came off real easily surprisingly.. Thanks

Surface mount CPUs of that design go as green fibre with metal
It's a surface mount flip chip carrier design not a true quad flatpack.

yes, they frown on taking components off boards like that... I think the last time i brought them chips like that i got no pin processors for them (but that was a couple years ago now). If you pull them off you run the risk of downgrading the entire lot.

Guess I should acknowledge that part too eh?

Last time I Sent those in we're from a fire recovery of a folding array. Where everything slid off all the boards. Vertical ones at least. That was end of last year and at the time got with metal rate.
I've been quite clear on the issue (I think).
If you pull anything off a board that is higher value than the board itself. Expect a massive downgrade.

These are still GFC card at the moment even with the loss of the GPU controller
But it's not a good idea to make a habit of. They can downgrade you substantially. And have every reason too! Their rates are wholly based on predictions in the laws of averages in population of specific boards per category.
If they get a thousand, a hundred even, like yours the value of the whole category will go down. And then everyone, them and users, get mad.
again if you're sending the boards in please don't pull stuff off.
It's rarely in your benefit in the long run to do so anyway.

Don't think it's /that/ big an issue.
Lol
Though an original solution to the missing chip issue. :0
What caught me here was not the CPU but the ROMs are missing too, and that's a double whammy. This board is ohkay on the lowest end of finger card as long as it's just the single one.
But any quantity like this could a) get a deduction if not a full class downgrade and b) lower the value of the entire batch of gold finger cards enough to drop the price in a week or two.

You're ohkay here with just the one. Was just trying in general to say not a good idea to start stripping random things off. Eventually everyone suffers.
