Is the board just peripheral?

For the access card - I assume I just cut the gold chip out? What's that go at?

I've been told before to do just what you said on the the card trim it down and I think price depends on the quality.

Yes on both counts.
The board is peripheral
The card trim out the smart chip and they buy them (not listed) as SIM cards. It’s only a few pennies or so on one but it doesn’t add weight to the package so toss it in.
