would this go midgrade or peripheral by chance? Maybe if I pulled pulled some of the heavy items off? I'm thrown by the gold pin connector inputs.

More than likely not.
If it's got gold pins I cut them loose and put those in gold pin connectors.

About the only brown boards I know of that will go peripheral is 3-1/2" floppy dive boards. I'm sure there a few more exceptions to the brown board rule.

Post the back but as it stands that’s low (and yes at this point of knowledge I’d cut that vga connector off as well for gold pin connector. On the other hand if there’s something special on the back an upgrade to mid grade or even peripheral is possible, but unlikely. Depends on what’s there.
