What are Dallas switches?

They are not switches. they are batteries period technically they are real time clocks.

BoardSort had a relatively minor mishap a short while back and has since gone to great length to request that absolutely all batteries be removed from all boards regardless of type or design.

Bottom line is they are generally safe but should be removed before they are sent in period return
They can generally be recycled anywhere that accepts batteries for free.

Thanks, was wondering, as they say"IC chips, no Dallas switches ", didn't understand.

I recently sent some cards to Boardsort, I hope there were no battery switches. I examined every card for "Dallas Switch". I thought that if battery switches were not allowed it would have been made more clear in the How to Sell to Boardsort post.
