 Post subject: Question on Power Supply

Hi - curious if the power supply is limited to AT/ATX, or if a power supply from an old Baynetworks LAN switch or equivalent server power supply counts.

They all count. A power supply is a large internal device for power production and distribution.
A power adapter is an external device for the same.
(The strange exceptions being server redundancy Rack mount cubes Which are power supplies).
So to answer your question a power supply is a power supply regardless of wiring standard in place. Be it AT or BTX or ISO 800-whatever the number is.
