Just curious if I should keep these ribbons on since they have gold connections or remove them? Is there a scrap price just for ribbons that would be worth more money to separate them? Also you wouldn't mind grading this board while you're at it. Thank you guys. I'm still extremely new to this if you can't tell . Haha

The board will be peripheral and you need to remove the ribbon cables. I think you can trim the gold plated contacts off and send those as Clean Gold Fingers.
The ribbon cables will go as Mixed Wire.

Thanks. I have been selling the whole thing as insulated wires at my local scrap yard for $.40 a lb. I won't make that mistake now.

Double check with Bruce or Chris,

I believe the only gold fingers being accepted as CGF are PCI cards, Ram, Wi-Fi cards and add-ins etc.

I know there was a slight flux between, printer cart ribbons, wire cut offs, and cut up flashings on boards being sent and mixed for CGF.

Officially update.
No. Ribbon contacts are not gold fingers.

Not sure when that was changed,
Or officially rules on.

Regardless as of Dec 2020 they are Peripheral rate.

I have a feeling it was was abused or misused. My note today from Chris, though, was quite clear.
I know a few posts the past year asked about sending flashing as gold fingers. Best guess is it got out of control and they just opted to hard line it rather than keep explaining to every upset person that the flashing from a tv or printer board isn’t gold fingers.
Give people an inch and they take a country type of thing. Not necessarily intentional but stuff like this can get very confusing very fast.

My personal guess on the sit.

I believe what you say is true.
That's what my opinion on this matter is too.

The majority probably didn't mean harm , just confusion or not educated and guessing on what was acceptable.
