I also take mines apart and put them back together. I then take them to a larger E-waste company. So far that has been working out great.

That’s another great idea.

One catch with that though is it may not recycle the PS plastic. Most monitors and TVs with a flat rectangle base, and nearly all feet/legs, are C-PS. So if you have a local drop off that’s a better choice for that.
Black PS almost never actually ends up recycled through the largest recycling companies.
H2R has a rather depressing study on black plastic in general.

So from an environmental view, put PS in a collection that specifically take PS.
