Pallets of Lenova thinkpad Chrome book, Yoga 11e up at auction . Several lots of 15 each, currently high bid is $15-20 per pallet. All untested, but description says all will require hard reset. weight is roughly 3 pounds each. One lot of 300, current bid less than a dollar each. Over two days, separate auctions, about 1000 are up for bids.

Resetting a chrome OS device to stock is usually as easy as
Ctrl shift escape
Or ctrl shift r
On boot.

More high end (lmao) CB units use function keys to reset
f7 9 3 etc in order of use



All else fails download a Chromos boot image for USB and use that.

Debating if feasible to bid on a few lots...Not much room on the scrap end at 3 pounds each, not into hard reset and marketing. Info says some have corner damage, so probably used in a school system. First auction round is Monday, so will watch bids. I'm out if they top $25 per pallet lot. Currently, one bidder holds the high bid on 13 of the 16 lots, including the one lot that has 300 Lenova thinkpads. Gotta wonder if the consignor is bye bidding up the price.

They tend to be single board systems. Meaning very entry level units.
Keep in mind selling this stuff isn’t easy at “reasonable” prices. You can move them all day at $20 but you’ll never fetch over 100 on one of those.

Most of the pallet lots went for around $55 to $65 dollars total for 15 laptops, about $3.50 per unit, and the lot of approximately 350 units brought $900 or a little less than $3 each. About the same number of units and pallets will be auctioned on Wednesday. I will probably try to buy at least one pallet if I can for around $50-60 bucks just to see what I get.

"High-End Chromebooks"
I get these in pretty frequently from schools and in pretty gross shape from kids using them/not being gentile with them. I would say half of all units actually work as intended (working screens, keyboards, etc.) as received.
They also don't weigh anything, so if you have your eye on these to just scrap as whole units to Boardsort, you're already losing your shirt.
The market is flooded with these, but I have had luck on Ebay lotting a few of them together for $100 bucks or best offer, especially if they are of the touchscreen variety.
There are folks who operate "package forwarding" companies that cater to international folks looking to buy restricted items, they usually have an address in Wilmington, DE or Doral, FL. People using these services have 9 times out of 10 purchased every chromebook I have ever listed (legitimately through Ebay). Fun to mention.

I will add an addendum:
If selling these on Ebay, you will have greater chance of success the more units you add. For example, you'll have an easier time selling 25 of these in a single lot rather than individually. My guess is, folks are trying to get second hand inventory for their classrooms overseas or in South America (my experience) for cheaper than new, or halfway houses and the like.
The reasons could be endless, but it's just my 2 cents on it, having sold these before.
