How to handle dual socket when the second socket on a riser card?

Keep together for dual socket? Separate for the rectangular metal socket category and...backplane(???) on the smaller?

It’s interesting how much technology advances and how everything is still the same. Those socket on riser designs date back to the late 70s when companies were putting Motorola and four or eight bit Intel in the same system. IBM 5k and 7k series towers in the 80s or AMD and their dual and quad systems in the 90s
