The picture shows socketed chips, does the category also include the ones you have to cut off? Also aren’t packs still considered IC’s? Thanks

Flat packs have their own categories.
Technically everything under the flatpack heading is IC chips.

Depends on what you mean by cut off. Not everything on a board that /looks/ like and IC actually is one. There’s also resistors, capacitors, transformers, fuses, relays, ….

But yes, BoardSort buys any and all ICs under the correct category.

Im talking about the ones that have ic and a number on the board itself Ic’s have icxxx or a U correct?

Generally, yes. There are always exceptions to every rule and different manufacturers use different labels on their boards.
